GoaFan77 May 9, 2014 @ 12:32pm. You cannot get gunpower units until the Gunpowder event is trigger, a set number of turns after the game starts. In vanilla MTW2 it occurs between turn 210 and 220. It is impossible to get it before the Mongols, the game warns you of their arrival sometime between turn 128 and 144, and they'll arrive a few turns So yeah, there is not a single decent early era Total War game past Shogun 2. If you buy into the new shitty combat engine then you have Rome 2, but if you want to actually think about battles rather than minmaxing stupid spreadsheets and don't want battles being glorified statcheck events, there has been literally 0 games worth playing since 2011. Ladders are more reliable but you take more losses because the tower blocks arrows. However, you take more losses if the tower burns (bit rare and requires player focus). I always go with ladders. A faster siege is usually a better one. You gotta deploy them in bulk though, one unit of ladders is a bit weak since they don't stream in together. Retarded campaign AI, a default 2 turns per year (but .5 TPY general aging!), controls that do seem rather clunky compared to newer total war entries, secret_love, awkward vanilla alt tabbing, sloppy trait assignment in the Kingdoms campaigns (most egregiously, a few cases of forgetting the LoyaltyStarter trait) are among my top vanilla peeves.
Medieval: Total War was of a larger scope than Shogun: Total War, spanning a larger time period and the entirety of Medieval Europe. Released in August 2002, the game was a greater success than Shogun: Total War , becoming the best-selling video game in the UK for the first two weeks, and the fourth best-selling game in the US market in its
A guide to victory : England! Hello, Stubbs here once more writing a review of England as requested. England starts off with limited blitzing patterns/men/and income so the first 10 turns are by far the most crucial. Your top priorities are removing Scottland from the game along with dublin to secure your isle and blitzing Rennes to keep France
10. Longbowmen. While only available to England, longbowmen units in the game are among the most solid and reliable missile units in the game. Their good range, armor-piercing projectile makes them a good alternative to England’s lack of crossbow units, allowing them to harass opponents from range, and blunt enemy charges when positioned

Medieval II Total War: Kingdoms Review (No One Lives Forever, I think), and the 4GB's worth of content that this expansion packs makes that seem like small potatoes. On the plus side, each of

Review Price: £24.99. As far as most sensible people are concerned, the Total War series has become the gold standard for epic strategy games. Part of the secret has been an evolutionary approach Sure. I just finished a 170+ campaign in Medieval 2. The main staple of Medieval 2 is the moddability of the game and the insane amount of total conversion mods there are. That said, dont go judging the game to modern standards, it is after all some 16 years old by now.
Medi 2 is a classic. Once again, if you became comfortable with the new systems it’ll feel a bit off for a few turns. Definitely worth 5$ though. It also gives you an appreciation for the evolution of this title. Makes Attila battles seem smooth for example. kakihara0513 • 4 yr. ago.
Second Barons' War Took place betweem 1264–1267 "A civil war in England between the forces of a number of barons led by Simon de Montfort against the royalist forces of King Henry III, led initially by the king himself and later by his son Prince Edward, the future King Edward I)."

mw1 has less annoying features. iv always considered mtw2 to be the worst of the 3d rendered tw games. exclusive recruitment at castles and towns makes retraining annoying. archer firing trajectory is downright broken. also like rtw the spawning brigands that cant be stopped without modding become super tiring late game, not because they are difficult (they aint) but because they spawn about

Hey everybody, long time Total War player here. I started with the original Rome way back in 2004 when I was just a wee kid. Then became obsessed with Medieval 2 Total War, and Empire Total War and played it all throughout high school and college. Now I'm having fun going back to Medieval 2, Empire, and Napoleon Total War.

Rome: Total War. Released in 2004, Rome: Total War was the real breakout hit for the series – well over a decade later it is still the best. Walk into any university lecture on the Roman Republic, say “Total War Rome: II is better than the original” and a fight may break out. With an extensive remaster announced for the 29th of April, it
Your makeing the game too long if you go at it alone. If you want to use your Towns to get the most money, Allies are the way to go. You make them early, becouse the longer you are freinds the more loyal they become. I also gift cities to Allies that I take during a War, so I wont have to defend them.

Definitely get it, but install the Stainless Steel 6.4 mod right away. The base game is okay, that mod is probably the best total war experience I've had. #2. Lukecis Mar 12, 2016 @ 6:27am. rome tw 1 and medieval 2 are the best games in the series in my opinion so yes its worth getting. #3.

Armor upgrades give your unit +1 armor stat for each tier of armor upgrade (up to three for some units). What's cool about this is when a unit has upgraded armor there is actually a visual change on the battle map. In order to upgrade armor in the campaign retrain or recruit a unit in a region with the armor building chain. 1. Put a spy inside the walls (campaign map) and hope the gates are open (in the siege menu) when you attack. 2. Order siege equipment built via the siege menu (e.g. ladders, rams, siege towers). That takes one or more turns. .
